Since the middle of 2009 Texas became the most relocated to state. This has been reported by various news organizations such as CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC in early 2010. We reported this one our website on September 2009.

If not for Texas surging as a relocation state, North Carolina would most likely still be #1. This is a great relocation state that benefits from great cities such as Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and others.

Florida has always been a top relocation destination. Especially over the last few years, we have seen a large increase in relocations to the Sunshine State. By looking at previous years, Florida should continue to be one of the top 5 relocation states for many years to come.

Starting in 2001 Arizona reached the top 3 position for relocation states, and even was the #1 relocation state in 2007. Due to the recent economic down turn Arizona in 2009 dropped to #6, but recently due to the foreclosure boom in the state it’s back to the #3 spot. Phoenix, and Tucson are still the top two relocation cities in the area.

California has never been out of the top 5 relocation states. 2010 is the lowest California has been ranked, but should continue to remain in the top 5. California was hit hard by high unemployment rates, and foreclosures. Although since the beginning of 2010 some cities are seeing an increase in relocation specially in the Los Angeles and San Diego County areas.
